WYRM'S TONGUE HATCHERY
Hook: Recently, rumours have been spreading that the Dragon Army of Û Koraš has been gathering strength... The whispers are faint, but, some say, on the edges of the Grand Dutchy, to the north, villages have been sacked, their people taken, by the scaled men of Szizín... The Grand Duke has grown restless with worry, as the King will not take heed that the threat is real... 'What does he desire? The dragon men to be pounding upon our door? Breathing fire down our throats? Soaring over our cities? Not in 10 centuries has this threat even caught the hint of a rumour... We must act, or the time will be lost and our land will be lost...' The Grand Duke, Prince Gár, son of the King, has taken it upon himself to send mercenaries to investigate claims of Û Koraš's return, and deal with it, if they can... Should they need help, he can supply aid.
Details: Far below Wyrm's Tongue Monastery, accessed by means of a long passage 300 feet long that turns into a steep stair 100 feet long, is the hatchery and scriptorium. The children of Û Koraš are cared for, here, until they are of age, trained for life as either priests, craftsmen, or warriors in the army of their deity. Female dragon men care for the eggs, keeping them warm and monitoring them, closely. Young are taken to the eastern caves where they are allowed to feast on sacrifices, using the caves to chase victims through the dark, developing their senses and instincts, and assuaging their ravenous hunger. When they are old enough, those who show aptitude are taken to the scriptorium and taught language and history and the ways of magic. A tomb holding the body of an ancient hero who led their army 10 centuries ago is also located here. All other dragon man bodies are fed to the young. A vault behind the tomb contains particularly valuable treasures sacred to dragon men. A narrow, secret tunnel leads up and far away into the hills where dragon men may both escape and lead their young to hunt in the forests nearby.
